Lincoln University scientists using genomic testing to reduce chemical use in NZ vineyards

Researchers at Lincoln University are using the MGI DNBSEQ-G400 genome sequencer to identify naturally disease-resistant grapevines. This genomic testing approach is expected to help reduce fungicide use by up to 80% in New Zealand’s wine industry, enhancing sustainability and cutting costs for growers.
